Examples of Our Work
Our aim is to get you online quickly and affordably, with an attractive, custom-designed site. Here are some of our recent projects:
Project Have Hope
Malden, MA
Kampala, Uganda
Project Have Hope is a charity. The major concerns of the website were the ability to accept online donations, to make online sales that support the organization’s mission, and to introduce children awaiting sponsorship in the organization’s programs.
Seeley & Madigan, LLP
San Mateo, CA
This website was designed for the launch of a family law practice. The firm’s partners wanted a style that was elegant and clean, yet approachable. We produced an email campaign to support the launch, resulting in click-through and open rates double the legal-industry average.
YMCA
Malden, MA
An installation of the Joomla open source CMS platform, customized to match the YMCA’s existing site design, but to transition their entire site into a dynamic, web-based, content management system (CMS). This project will enable individual employees of the YMCA to easily edit web pages that contain content relevant to their individual areas of responsibility.
Simplicity Lifestyle Management
Melrose, MA
A customization of the Joomla CMS platform to provide web-accessible site management from any location for a new, personalized concierge service based near Boston.
Dialysis Clinic of Connecticut
Farmington, CT
(In progress) The website must meet the needs of dialysis patients, their families and caregivers. In addition to basic information, the site will provide resources for patients with kidney disease, including information on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
New York Deaf Blind Collaborative
Queens College
City University of New York
This website needed to be built to conform to the guidelines of its granting agency. It features an integrated side-by-side site in Spanish. However, its most important feature was that it be fully accessible to site-impaired and hearing-impaired users. This site may look a bit plain on its surface, but it can be easily navigated by users browsing with screen readers and other access tools.
The Institute for Sustainable Cities
Hunter College
City University of New York
This website was built by customizing an installation of the open-source platform Joomla. The site’s administrator can edit it from anywhere, via its web-based Content Management user interface.
Tapestry Feminist Counseling and Psychotherapy
Cambridge, MA
The design for this website needed to meet the needs of all six therapists in the practice. Some information needed to be presented as group-specific, but each practitioner also needed her own page. The design also needed to have the capacity to expand easily to accommodate additional future group members and information.
Osiris Communications
Santa Clara, CA
This design needed to incorporate the client’s existing content, add additional relevant content, and provide a fresh design for this new section.
Club Balkan
Everett, MA
(In progress) A customization of the open-source blogging platform WordPress provides the foundation for this website. A web-based Content Management System allows the site administrator to easily update content such as menu items, or the live performance calendar.
Fran Davis, Ph.D.
Wayland, MA
(In progress) The client required an original, yet simple design for her psychology practice. The site must provide overview information. It is also a patient-resource for downloadable insurance- and appointment-forms.
Division of Social Sciences
Queens College
City University of New York
A total website overhaul was needed to bring diverse departments and programs together in one site and allow complex content management by non-technical administrative users. We used an original customization of the open-source platform Joomla, providing fully-featured, web-based content management.
Wisely Wed
Brookline, MA
A website for a therapist specializing in pre-marital and wedding-anxiety counseling. The content needed to be specific about therapy issues, but to remain upbeat, attractive and realistic.
Moderno Salon & Spa
Melrose, MA
Moderno Salon & Spa needed a website to be completed quickly, in time for its grand opening. The website needed to match collateral promotional materials prepared by a separate designer. Dartmouth Design achieved both objectives, with a project turnaround time of 10 days.
Gray Livery
Somerville, MA
The project focus was to create a one-page face for the company, while including important details of their services.
For Sale by Owner
Lexington, MA
A home owner looking to sell a house quickly provided us with photos of the home, and we did the rest in under 48-hours. We built a 4-page site and created a printable PDF listing sheet for the open-house. The home sold in 6-days! Our for-sale-by-owner sites include a unique domain name (for example, 75BeaconStreet.com), up to 3 videos, and as many photos and listing details as you choose to provide. At $500, these sites are priced to help you move.
GroupOf.com
BBN Technologies
Cambridge, MA
Dartmouth Design provided graphical layouts and designs, written content, and project management services for BBN’s new large-scale, reunion-planning and social-networking website.
The Boston Cecilia
Brookline, MA
Dartmouth Design has provided long-term, pro bono assistance to this non-profit performing arts group. Over the past 2 years, we have helped The Boston Cecilia redesign and deploy their website. We also provided technical training and assistance so that over time, their staff could do most of the work independently.
Barnette Plumbing
Jamaica Plain, MA
The client needed an attractive and simple design, and an affordable marketing plan to help build a client base through online searches.
Photos by KISP
Malden, MA
Photojournalist Karen Sparacio needed updates and additional sections added to her existing website. Dartmouth Design provided a quick turn-around time, matching the new work to the existing graphical design and code created by an earlier webmaster.
The Pollard Exchange Building
Lowell, MA
A website containing structural and demographic information for potential tenants of a mixed-use retail/commercial building.
Club Balkan
Everett, MA
Club Balkan.ba, a neighborhood cafe, had a small project–new menus–and a larger obstacle–the proprietor didn’t speak too much English and the menus needed to be printed in Bosnian. Dartmouth Design provided bi-lingual service and the menus were ready within a week.
Kasiisi Project
Weston, MA
Kasiisi Project’s existing website functioned well enough, but was rather plain. It was important to the charity that their website look contemporary and attractive to visitors and potential donors. The major concerns of the website were the ability to present a fair amount of content without an overwhelming navigation menu, and to use standards-compliant, cross-browser compatible code.
Margalit Eren-Rabinovich
Brookline, MA
With a practice focused on clients in the midst of international relocation, this website needed to contain basic information about the psychological issues associated with relocation, as well as practical information about appointments, insurance, and payment options.
Teetertots
Worcester, MA
This re-seller of European children’s clothes needed an online gallery to display and sell their products, and to advertise upcoming trunk shows.
