Deals on Printing – Getting the most from online print services
I’m often asked whether online printers offer reliable, quality services (they do!), and if so, how does ordering from them work.
Although it’s great if your business or non-profit can establish a relationship with a local printer, online printers are now so established, and offer such competitive pricing and convenience, that it’s just as good an idea to get comfortable with one.
Our favorite online printers: PSprint, VistaPrint, & MOO
A key to getting the best pricing out of these printers is to take advantage of the frequent, deep discounts they offer on various printed products (see images below), including eco-friendly items. Here’s a run down of what these printers offer, as well as lots of click-through offers to access deep discounts on printed business materials.
PS Print
PS Print uses state-of-the-art printing equipment from Komori, HP and Heidelberg. Their staff are experienced professionals who will help you through each step of a complex job, or answer your questions about simple orders. PS Print overnights hard-copy proofs for your review, and produces pieces that are sharp, accurate and will impress your customers.
With printing facilities throughout the United States, no order needs to be shipped cross-country. With monthly discounts on common products like business cards and brochures, PS Print can seriously save you some money.
Special Tip for San Francisco customers: PS Print has a printing facility on Mandela Highway in Oakland. This is their only facility that offers pick-up printing services. If you live or work in this area, you will save 100% of the shipping costs, as well as get your order faster, by selecting “pick-up” during the order process, and dropping by to pick up your lovely, new printed materials a couple of days later!
MOO!
Moo is famous for their eye-catching MiniCards, but they also offer all manner of traditional and unique printed materials, including regular sized Business Cards, Professional Holiday Cards, Postcards, and most recently, really cool Pocket-sized Sticker Books!
The stickers are printed onto individual sheets, perforated along one edge, making it easy to tear and share the stickers. And as with all MOO products, you can print dozens of different designs in a single sticker book.
VistaPrint
If Moo is the Northeast’s small batch specialty printer, VistaPrint is an industry giant in online printing, but founded and headquartered in Massachusetts, they’re also a local company for those of us in the New England.
They offer a huge selection of printed collateral–from business cards and personal contact cards to mouse pads, mugs, tote bags, vinyl banners, key chains, tee-shirts, and even wedding invitations.
The trick to getting great value from VistaPrint is not to make point-of-sale purchases on all the extras they offer you during checkout. Just pass up all the $4 extras and your costs will stay low.
Also, on checkout, don’t take the expensive shipping options. In our experience, even VistaPrint’s affordable ground-shipping option arrives in about a week!
Here are a bunch of good deals on printed items. Some of them are for first-time orders, but none of them expires. Enjoy!
